In May 2005, musicologist Michael Maul made a sensational discovery in the Herzogin Anna Amalia library in Weimar. He unearthed the manuscript of a sacred aria by JS Bach which was previously unknown. It was the first vocal work of JS Bach to be discovered since 1935.
It is an aria consisting of 12 verses for solo soprano, strings and basso continuo.
