The words for Panis Angelicus are from an extract from St Thomas Aquinas's hymn Sacris solemniis and frequently treated as a separate hymn. Of the many settings, César Franck's from 1872 is the best known. He included it in his Messe á Trois Voix for Tenor, Harp, Cello and Organ some years after that piece was written. Out of all the works by Franck, the Panis Angelicus, with its calm Vocal line and restrained accompaniment, is the most well known and the most frequently recorded, in all Voices and in many arrangements.
This song by Cesar Franck is presented here in sheet music format arranged for voice and piano in the key of F Major.
This is also on the ABRSM Grade 5 Singing Syllabus, from 2018, list A.
