One of the greatest compositions in musical history, often performed and recorded, J S Bach's Mass in B minor BWV 232 was completed in 1749, the year before his death, and is in a sense a retrospective of a lifetime's work. It was possibly not until 1859 however that the Mass was performed for the first time in its entirety.
However the Bach Archive Leipzig in conjunction with Bärenreiter are constantly striving to bring new discoveries of editorial research to the fore. It is precisely for this reason that a new revised edition of the Mass in B Minor has been published. Full score & performing material (BA 5935), vocal score (BA 5935-90) and a study score (TP 1232) are available for sale.
