The only instruction manual for the voice and singing you will ever need! “Singing - An Extensive Handbook for All Singers and Their Teachers" is for anyone who is interested in singing, and especially for those who teach it. It also contains information which will be useful to instrumental teachers. It aims to help all teachers to improve the aural and technical singing skills of their students, even if they are not first-study singers.

Written by Ross Campbell, who is internationally recognised as a vocal specialist and who has also been professor of Singing at London's Royal Academy of Music since 1999. Campbell was also Head of Singing and Music at the Guildford School of Acting for many years. This book will assist conductors of choral societies, music directors, and anyone who works with all singers. More advanced singers will benefit by using the book as an aid for their continuing development.

“Singing-An extensive Hand book for All Singers and Their Teachers" takes a holistic approach which addresses numerous facets of vocal health and training, combining essential scientific research. 'The Fast Track' section contains a simplified outline of the basics of singing. 'The Essential Anatomy' supports the sections, 'Training the Singing Voice', 'Making Music' and 'Performance'. 'The Developing Voice' section is especially relevant for teachers training young people through adolescence, during the time of marked vocal change. The 'Making Music' section shows how to put the anatomy and training together to prepare for a performance. In the "Performance' and 'The Psychology of Singing' sections there is advice on the many small steps which lead to a successful performance. Advice is given on the underlying causes of vocal difficulties in the section on "Troubleshooting," along with ways to resolve them. There are detailed exercises to overcome difficulties in 'Training the Singing Voice'. The overall topic of musicianship as a whole, is covered in the section 'Practical Singing for all Musicians' such as the role of examinations, aural training and the benefit of working in groups. The 'Further Development' section offers advice on how to take singing into a more advanced field of study or performance.

Overall, the book addresses all the technical, emotional and social problems which can affect the voice, aiming to show singing as an enjoyable activity, which combine the physical, creative and emotional parts of human expression.
